War is the destruction of wealth. Funds dedicated to the production of destructive tools/equipment/vehicles/weapons have an exponentially negative impact on the growth of a nation. Any Euro directed toward military has negative impact on the standard of living.
The EU is doing nothing but bankrupting itself. Government spending, at best, a temporary stimulus. This also means other priorities will be either shortchanged or debt will soar, which is most likely. The larger the government, the more wasteful the spending.
