The context to put it simply is to gain leverage on China and the City of London. How, you ask? When the USA attains control over Iranian oil, they will have control over 67% of oil imports to China thereby giving the USA leverage in negotiations over critical minerals from China for USA defense and AI purposes. Insurance of vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, removes business that would otherwise, go to Lloyds of London, thereby leveraging the UK Prime Minister.
