"U.S. Economy on the Brink - Debt Crisis, Oil Spike & Market Meltdown"

I really don't see a market meltdown. The US markets are so overpriced that it is hard to believe. I am so disenchanted with the US populace and their refusal to see reality.

All you need to start everyone questioning everything is for major stocks to start missing revenue/profit projections. I am not in any tech stocks, but I am amazed how the company I use sends out messages ALWAYS claiming no matter what, every day is a great day to buy more stocks: Iran War, buy stocks; nuclear bombs dropped, buy stocks; you get the idea. They sound like real estate brokers who are the same way about real estate. It's a great time to buy if rates are high, prices are high, houses are scarce, it simply doesn't matter: Buy, Buy, Buy!

I get your point; too many people are moved by excess wealth. But I have lost so much faith in the vast majority of Americans, as well as most of the West, that I believe we are most likely doomed.

The comparisons between world militaries and their cost is fraught with risk. First, the comparisons are often done with Dollars. This skews things right out of the gates because exchange rates change and matter. A better comparison might be military spending as a portion of the national budget or the percentage of GDP. In the US, we have a volunteer military force which means more money and benefits have to be offered as an inducement versus other countries with drafts in which each member costs much less to bring into the military. Incentive bonuses and the GI Bill are not cheap.

Hi Lena, I love listening to Steve Hanke, but even this one was a bit long and dragged a bit. I would suggest 30 minutes as a good timeframe.

A targeted crash is coming. It has to with the tech stocks so overvalued. It's just a matter of time. Maybe this summer once we have the oil shock.

They have this idea of build the data centers and they will come. What happens if they all don't find enough customers to pay the data center builds/maintenance? They are wildly overselling AI and yet it is training on the internet and doesn't inherently understand when something is amiss where a real person would.

AI is a grift and once the scam is exposed, the whole thing will come crashing down. A lot of people are going to lose a lot of money, and the wealthiest will walk off into the sunset with a bag of cash. They will know when it's coming. Likely someone in the government will tell them, like they have the last few times in recent months.
