I miss Reagan. He had such a happy disposition. It was nice to see a President at ease in his job, one who could make jokes about himself and laugh at the occasions, like journalists dinners, when they made jokes about him.
Compare Reagan's White House official portraits with Trump's current official portrait. It looks like he is trying to channel Darth Vader or he's just mad with everybody. One of the strangest portraits ever.
Strangely, here in central Virginia, regular (87 octane) has dropped significantly. From some touching $4.45 or so, with most reaching at least $4.39, a lot of stations are now around $4.09. The only explanation I can come up with is that all stations seemed to go instantly to the same price level at the first shock, so there was no doubt some price gouging and it took quite a while before competition finally moved prices to a level where those stations are no doubt still making money. I don't know if any other parts of the country are seeing moderating regular gas prices or not.
