China has unsustainable debt, possibly the worst population implosion, and years of wasting m massive amounts of resources overbuilding, empty apartment complexes and villages, while supposedly being the world's largest economy by PPP.

Maybe, maybe not. At least China makes everything imaginable, so their own people probably won't suffer as much as others because most goods will come from inside the country as opposed to imports. Is empty apartment complexes and villages any worse than the trillions we spend on wars and occupations, with nothing to show for it other than dead/wounded vets and the bill? Ever notice how our roads and bridges get worse year by year, but Congress send tens of billions overseas and never cares about the conditions here?

I see it all the time. China’s main industry isn’t war like America. Congress doesn’t work for me or the country…they might as well still be a peerage system trying to build empires

Thanks for clearing that up, Lena. I thought they were called the D-7 because they support illegal wars and a barbaric GENOCIDE. But seriously, we are in for a very rough ride - economically speaking.

It is easy to describe the problem. What are the governments solutions beyond money printing? Are they willing to cut enough spending to make a difference? They are so married to social programs, it would be political suicide to cut entitlements. We are slaves to spending, chained to our monetary black hole.

"In a world shaped by decades of economic growth, fiscal stimulus, and cheap borrowing . . ." When FDR and Nixon killed the gold standard, our currency then became a fiat currency. No longer would gold restrict government spending. All fiat currencies eventually die because politicians love to spend money and fiat currencies enable such behavior.

"In the United States, 30-year Treasury bond yields are nearing 5%." This is guaranteeing a loss after inflation. What fool would consider locking up his money for 30 years at such a low interest rate? Yes, I understand the bond can be sold, but the question is still legitimate. We should lock up all our debt in 30-year bonds at 5%. At least this pushes the problem well done the road for a bit.

"The question now is whether governments will act before the markets do." The clear answer is that they won't. They will continue to whistle past the graveyard, hoping for the best.

Physical gold, gold ETFs, and large gold miners are ways to preserve capital during currency revaluations. Probably even best to have some stored overseas because never underestimate a government's illegal and unethical seizure of individual's gold just like FDR did. Governments will also demonize those smart enough to be in gold as unpatriotic and unwilling to hold the US dollar. When politicians look for scapegoats (because they never blame themselves) don't be surprised if those who were smart enough to prepare to be publicly demonized. Never a bad idea to keep a current passport in hand.

Lena, as always, thank you.

The beast power that comes out of this will be a charismatic man that will solve the world's financial problems. He may look good on the outside, however he has evil intentions for the world. We are headed towards the Great Tribulation for 2 1/2 years followed by the Day of the Lord, which will last a year. It will be complete upheaval for the world unlike what we have ever seen! You better prepare spiritually. That will be your only chance!

Stay in your lane The Great Tribulation hadn’t happened yet, the Rapture hasn’t been a thing.

See my reply above. The Great Tribulation already happened and the Rapture was invented by William Darby in 1830.

Before William Darby twisted the Book of Revelation totally out of what the Church had believed for centuries, he also invented the Rapture. The Book of Revelation was sent to the 7 churches in Asia (now called Turkey) to encourage them for the coming persecution by the Roman Empire. Most of this has already happened.
