One enhancement that helps frame the picture of the Ukraine conflict is that this conflict started out as a Civil War between a large Russian minority living in Ukraine and the "normal" Ukrainians. Russia is fighting for Russians, literally. They are not fighting for territory.
A look at a vote dispersion map of the 2010 and 2014 elections is quite revealing.
I watch Larry Johnson a lot on Judging Freedom and he's right. Things are only going to get worse for everyone around the world. There's more reporting that the world is very close to a global depression by the end of the year.
Our global economic crisis due to the Iran war reducing the flow of things like oil and fertilizer is happening at the same time as a global climate crisis plunging much of the world, including America, into severe droughts and dreadful heat and humidity waves often accompanied by toxic air due to pollution. I read an article probably 10 years ago that said half the school age children in Delhi have permanent lung damage because of the air pollution. Last summer there were terrible heat waves and water shortages in the Middle East, Europe, India and Pakistan and I saw environmental scientists interviewed who said some of these areas are already unlivable, and this summer is already on track to be worse. Only AI can save our sinking ship. Too many of our problems are already beyond our control.
