There is phrase in news "US aid to Ukraina xx billions", but is this aid charity money or is it loan, debt or what? If it is as said loan to Ukraina, is it really expected to be repaid ever. Canadian professor show document that aid is released as loan from US state to Ukraina "purposes". Among domestic US situation scale on trillions, that is minor issue, but one should know: aid or loan? Especially when there is no openness or control what happens when money aid or loan is released. What is debt balance in Ukraina visa verca?
Hi Ilkka! Thank you for such an important question! I believe everyone should be asking it and requesting accountability/ audits on both sides. My understanding is that the US gives Ukraine a "loan" that has to be eventually repaid. However, I don't believe there is a true expectation of a repayment; therefore, Ukraine's government provides its land/ natural resources/ already established enterprises in lieu of repayments; as well as adopts policies that would benefit the creditors. A portion of the money goes directly to the US military industrial complex while a portion is sent overseas. I'm not sure if there is any financial reporting available on the actual amounts.
Thank you for all you do!
Thank you Linda!!
