I recommend people go to C-SPAN and watch what Yellen actually said and the actual questions with context. The Yahoo Finance article I think this is coming from is cherry picking to push a narrative that lacks understanding at best, and is pushing Chinese propaganda at worst.
Bottom line, countries that are scared they will be sanctioned the same as Russia when they invade Taiwan, are trying to make that impossible. The lines are going to get real clear, real quick. The BS we have been engaged in where we tolerate each other, specifically Saudi Arabia, is going to end. I for one will be glad for it because despite our flaws, as long as we continue to keep autocrats out of power, freedom is superior to tyranny.
Unfortunately Dean Throop your rant on tyranny vs freedom is so outdated. US is the Most War like Nation globally which we cannot deny. Globally countries are beginning to seek alltrenative in currency. We ABUSE our monetary system by Sanctioning.
Those PLUTOCRATS are secured because they know how to invest in other countries thus well taken care of and can fly off to other countries with ease while we mere mortals are stuck .
By the way :tyranny vs freedom is like comparing apples with bananas! Look at other countries like Singapore, China, Indonesia ......their citizens are happy. While we "Freedom" yeah Free to be Screwed by our government! Example: Pandemic where was our freedom in terms of vaccination, job.
So PLEASE stop this nonsense of tyranny .....cherry picking....who is doing that now
Chinese citizens are not happy. The world has been always at war. In the last century they have all been of much smaller scale. There have been fewer and less severe financial calamities. Borders have remained stable. There basically has been improved world order based upon rules that anyone can set through democratic processes. China and Russia have seats at that table and have influenced how things go. The US is not entirely alone in any of these things. We have allies and work with a multitude of cultures and countries across the entire globe. The Chinese only play well with North Korea. The Russians, only with places like Belarus where they have a puppet. I am not saying the US has been perfect or even is great. There have been some incredibly dumb things and some incredibly bad things. However, I would take the existing setup over Pooh bear re-educating me or an old man in a bunker sending me to a meat grinder any day.
AMERICA IS ALWAYS DOING TERRIBLE THINGS EVEN TO HERE ALLIES A PERCECT EXAMPLE IS THE NAFTA AGREEMENT BETWEEN MEXICO ,CANADA, AND THE USA, WHEN THE NEGOTIATIONS WERE ON UNITED STATES DIDNT NEG, SHE JUST SAID TO CANADA TAKE OR LEAVE SO WHEN THE PRIM MINISTER PHONED THE WHITE HOUSE THE AMERICANS WOULDN'T EVEN ACCEPT THE CALL IS THAT NEGOTIATIONS OR TOTAL DISRESPECT AND FURTHER TO THAT THE AMERICANS UNILATERALLY CHANGED THE NAME TO USMC WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU CANADA MUST DIVERSIFY ITS MARKETS DISTANCE HERSELF FROM THE USA AND JOIN THE NEW WORLD ORDER ENOUGH IS ENOUGH I CONSIDER AMERICA TO BE CANADAS WORST ENEMY 🇨🇦🇨🇳🇧🇷🇨🇺🇮🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳
I think it depends upon the industry. Take for example the tar sands boom and timber sales. Canada benefitted greatly from both to the detriment of the US based industries. Mexico has experienced and is continuing to experience a huge resurgence in manufacturing due to the free trade agreement (not called NAFTA now) and China's COVID policy. Beyond that, Canada in particular has benefitted greatly from NORAD. The West has also benefitted from Canada because even though the Canadian military is small, it is excellently trained with good equipment.
Anyone thinking everyone can benefit all the time is not being realistic. Compromise is required and good compromises means no one is completely happy. The it is a "win, win, win" is flat out lying. And yes, I am calling China out on that specifically since a lot probably have not seen what they get published.
As an aside, the all caps yelling is challenging to read. Punctuation and capitalization will help your message. Thank you, and positive thoughts for everyone.
